Richmond Olympic Oval

The Richmond Olympic Oval is located on the banks of the Fraser River, 14 kilometres south of downtown Vancouver.

In line with the organising committee’s quest to produce a green games, Richmond Olympic Oval is environmentally friendly. The roof is made from recycled wood, there is rainwater catchments that flow into the building’s utility systems to supplement toilet flushing and the waste heat energy recovered from ice-making will be captured and reused for heating within the venue.

Speed Skating Tile Speed Skating 

The oval will be home to the 400 metre speed skating track. It will also house the main anti-doping lab of the Games.

Venue Capacity

The venue can seat up to 8,000.
